Regarding the relationship between grit and entrepreneurship, the baseline argument of previous research and our hypothesis was that grit leads young adults to display more self-confidence and perseverance (Hmieleski and Carr, 2007; Wolfe and Patel, 2016), which are positively associated with entrepreneurship. Therefore, gritty individuals would be more prone to engage in entrepreneurship.

Entrepreneurship involves numerous risks and uncertainties. Positive psychological resources such as courage, as well as confidence, hope, optimism, and resilience (collectively referred to as psychological capital), can be valuable for entrepreneurs.
